Winter Hat.

Here's a hat I made for myself for this winter. With long curly hair that are always put up, it's very hard to find a hat that fits... I love this one, I made it from reclaimed yarn from a woman's cardi, it's acrylic and wool blend. Now I'm thinking about some mitts to go with it :)

I think I'll be working on a red half circular shawl for myself to go with these lovelies... ;)

Aren't they cute?? I just fell in love with them. And they are a dream to wear!

Toddler dress!

Soooo...! Here's what I've been working on for the last week. It's my own knitting and crocheting and I didn't follow any pattern. I'm quite pleased with how it looks. I need to sew a ribbon inside the shoulder straps to prevent them from getting longer with the weight of the dress. It's a 2 years old size but a very little too big for my 2 1/2 yo. I planned to make a matching headband and legging (size 3 yo) so it could be worn like a tunic for another year.

How about some yarn??!

How about some yarn yummys? I unraveled 2 husband's ex-sweaters. And got lots of soft cotton yarn:

Still have to reclaimed the back of the red sweater.
I'm working on a toddler dress right now and should have finished it this week :)
I can tell you it involves knitting, crocheting and sewing!

We went blueberries picking this week end and came home with 18-20 pounds of the little blue balls... Lots of it is in the freezer for winter consumming.
Let me introduce you my son, Julien 6 yo....:)

Instant gratification!!

How about some underwear....?

I took a pajama t-shirt:

You can see that it's ready to be cut.

And made these:

Now for a try... ;)
A good tutorial for sewing underwear.

toddler ruffles

I found this jumper at the thrift store and loved it... but it was a little too short for my girl (24 months size)so:

before:

And: Tadaa! a new one just the right size!

I used fabric from stash and add a 3 inches in lenght.

I started painting my new sewing room (the baby old room, 8'x8')... Can't wait to move my sewing and crafting stuff in it!

First project....

My babysitter is pregnant.... Do I need more excuses to make baby stuff??

Here's what I'm working on:

It's a baby pajama for the little girl to be... I will make a bottom, some slippers (already done!) a bib and a stuff ball.
The flowery fabric started its life as a maternity top and the brown fabric came from 2 woman t-shirts. I'm glad with the kimono top ( here's the link if you want to make one: http://habitual.wordpress.com/kimono/) but it was hard to sew the bias binding at the shoulders seam.

And here's the baby slippers:

I don't like the inside finish and the seam around is bulky...

Lil' intro!

Hi every one!!

Just a little intro to start a new life/blog on the internet...

My name is Josée and I'm a stay at home mom of 3 kids (which you shall meet soon), wife to one and keen crafter of many kind.
So I decided, inspired by my close friend and loved neighbor Gen, to start a blog on my tries to do something useful and hopefully beautiful with previously loved items.
I sware to post pics of my ungoing/finished objects disregarding how they look so you will all see the mistakes and funny things... (maybe that could help to pass some wisdom to someone else! lol).
You will surely see, on this blog, some sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and painting... and definitively lots of struggles!
Let the fun begins... And GET CREATIVE!

Just one last thing: my mother tongue is french so bear with me! ;)
